SWF files no longer open

I just noticed that SWF files no longer open when d-clicked from an
Explorer window. Nor do my 'Movie Tours' work from applications like
PaintShop Pro (which uses SWF files).

Add/Remove programs has entries for Macromedia Flash Player 8 and
Macromedia Shockwave Player.

Explorer|Folder Options|File Types includes the SWF extension, but
there is no program assigned to it. Using Browse to find Shockwave (or
the other one - I never understood the difference?) is a dead end, as
I cannot find a suitable executable anywhere in Program Files.

Anyone able to help please?

You are using older versions. I'd go to the Macromedia Test & Install
page and have it check your installation:

*Requires an ActiveX to scan and update

Thanks. The second one (Macromedia Flash Player) is animated OK, but
not the first, Shock Player.

Should this update automatically please, in Firefox? Nothing is
happening...
