SUS Client won't install on WinXP

E

Eric Wallers

I attempt to install the SUS client on two different XP
Pro (SP1) machines and it gives me a message:
"Microsoft Windows Update Auto Update requires Windows
2000 SP2 or Windows XP."
I keep these machines up to date on patches and updates.
Why does it not recognise my XP bx as acceptable?

Because you already have SUS Client installed. Check for
a service listed as "Automatic Update" in the management
console. You could also look for the Automatic updates
control panel icon to verify.
