Suppress printer enumeration on Windows startup

I wish to suppress the enumeration of printers at Windows startup. This is
because I have some custom hardware on the parallel port and each time
Windows starts, it looks for printers and this results in sending a number of
pulses to my device through LPTx that are not ideal. Ideas?

Try tweaking your settings for LPT1.

In Device Manager, Click on Ports, Click on LPT1, Right click on LPT1, and
go to properties and click on the port settings tab.

Perhaps tweaking with these settings (on a test system), can yield an answer.

The settings I find are disable or enable (I have to use enable) and IRQ
issues (not relevant). Are there others?
