Superscript & Subscript all in one

I have trouble writing the Electrical Symbol 220 + 20 -30 V, with the +20 as superscript and, below it, –30 as a subscript (this is like combining the superscript and subscript symbols in one). I suppose that I would have to go by Insert > Object > Microsoft Equation. The problem is that I do not have such a thing in there, down the list. From Microsoft, I have just Microsoft Clip Gallery, MS Excel Chart, MS Excel Worksheet, MS Power Point Presentation, MS Point Slide, and so on.

Could you please help me with such a complicated issue ….??

Hi Dodane
Before becoming a tech author I used to be an electronic
engineer so I know the probelms you face.

If you don't have equation editor installed then there is
another why to attchieve the same results.

What you do is use a borderless table as a layout table
just as you would in HTML (for best results remove padding
and spacing as well)

Create a two column two row table and merge the cell in
the first column togetgether see below

| | |
| | |
----------------

Use borders & shading to simulate a delimiter and as each
cell of the table is in affect a new paragarph you can
format the cell above and below the delimiter to simulate
subscript and superscript

Yes, you need Equation Editor, which is not installed by default (in the
Typical install). To install it, go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs,
select Microsoft Office, and click the Change button. In the first page,
select "Add or Remove Features." On the next page, expand "Office Tools."
Select Equation Editor and set it
to "Run from My Computer." Click the Update button, and insert the Office CD
when prompted.

Thank you, Alex, I was thinking about that way, too, I just hoped that I could do something much...... easier. But, at least, you confirmed that there is not another way, except installing equation editor. Thank you
