Sudden Shut Down

Dear Friends:
I have Sony Vaio GRX650 with Widows XP Home, sp2 - that now sometimes shut
down without any warning - absolutely unpredictable. Then, sometimes when I
try a cool start (a new start on a different day) - it may only show the Sony
logo then will suddenly shuts down. Some other day - it shuts down in few
seconds after I turn it on - before showing any logo.
Please help.

Sounds like a hardware issue, possibly the power supply, or memory or the
motherboard..
