sudden reboot, then recover from serious error

Got a "recovering from serious error message" and then
windows would not boot, reporting an "unknown hard error."
Attempt to repair xp install unsuccessful; xp will not
boot. (It continualyy reboots.) Bought new computer after
microsoft paid support told me it had to be a hardware
error. Installed same copy of xp on new computer. Got a
sudden reboot and then a serious error recovery message.
But otherwise, it seems to have recovered; it's working
for now. Any ideas about what's going on? Is there
something wrong with xp?

I had the same problem and it was due to a conflict in the video cards, HP comes with an interal video card and I added an Nvidia card. I have more on this if you need it
