What is a way of submitting my Web site to the search engines?

Hi Mark,

You can submit manually but the best way is to put a link to your site from
an existing site if you have one, this way the search engines will find your
site themselves. As far as Google is concerned if you can link to your site
from an exisiting site with a decent PR you'll get listed very quickly.

Hi,
You can't 100% guarantee that your site will be listed but as long as you
have some useful content, well formed HTML and ideally some inward links
there's no reason why you shouldn't be listed. Keep an eye on your logs for
visits from googlebot, yahoo slurp and also msnbot which is being pretty
lively at the moment.

One other thing you should do is submit yourself to www.dmoz.org it will
take a while to get listed and be careful you choose the exact right
category but it's worth the effort as a lot of sites pick up their listings.
