Subform sorting

I have a subform that lists all entries associated with the main form.
when i view the form on-screen, the subform is sorted A-Z according to a
date field. But, when I print that form, the date field in the subform is
randomly sorted.

I can't understand why viewing and printing the exact same form should yield
different sort results?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated :)

Reports are for printing, forms are for viewing. Is this just a "why?"
question, or do you really want to print the form? I would suggest
designing a report based on the data and you can have any sort order you
want.

Sorry I have confused the issue.
It IS a report which includes 3 separate subforms. On one of the subforms,
the dates do not sort in chronological order - even though, in the
properties, I have set the 'Sort on' to that date field. The other subform
which also includes a date field IS sorted chronologically and I can't see
any difference in the properties of the two forms.

Once again, when I preview the report on screen, dates are chronological and
when the same report is printed, they are not...

Forms aren't really intended or designed for printing. I'd suggest creating a
Report - you can save the form as a report to avoid rebuilding it - and use
the Report's Sorting and Grouping attribute to set the sort order.
