SUB-SYTEM HELP PLEASE

Hey.
I Cannot install games or hardware, when i click set up the following
message says
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The sys file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Press close
Any suggestions?????????
