styles list

I have created several user-defined styles on a css style sheet. When I go to
the drop down styles list I see dozens (if not hundreds) of available FP
default styles. I would like my user-defined styles to be at the top so they
are easily accessible; otherwise I have to scroll through this huge list. Is
there a way to hide the default styles and see only my own? I thought about
creating a custom toolbar that shows my styles; but it seems you can add a
specific style to a toolbar. How can I remedy this.
Thanks,

Unfortunately you can not rearrange the style drop down

What FP-defined styles? I'm using FP 2003, and I only get the styles on my
style sheet and any inline styles that I have defined. Why would mikesammy
be getting all this other stuff?

Maybe using a Theme?

Must be using a theme.

Perhaps removing the unused css from the stylesheet is somethig worth
considering. Just make a backup first i\ qase it turns out tod much was
deleted. Remember a theme must account for every possibility and not just
the bits you actually use.

Aha! Of course!
I created my own css style sheet not thinking that a Theme would have its
own css style sheet (but that's just what a theme is --- a bunch of defined
styles!).

I guess there are a couple of things I can do (correct me if I'm wrong):
1 - copy all the styles from MY style sheet into the Theme style sheet and
delete my own. That would seem most efficient.
2 - Go through the Theme style sheet and delete all the styles I don't want
so I can reduce that long list. But how do I know which ones I can do
without? Is it just a case of trial and error of applying a style, see if I
need it, then delete it or not?

BTW: Thanks to all who have provided advice. Im a newby to FrontPage.

You can do either one. I'd do 2 but as I said I'd maek a back-up first just
in case.

As always when trying to weed out the inessential from the necessary you
might want to save after each change and preview the page in the browser
before making the next change.

To some extent the css style names should give you a clue about which ones
are safe to delete. I don't use themes and haven't looked the stylesheet for
theme in so long that I can't be of much help there. Have fun and back-up
after you have tested pages. That way if you do find you deleted a
definition or two you shouldn't have you don't have to start over.
