Style question.

Hi,

How can I change the hight of the textback ground?
I'm using a black background for my text and the text itself is white.
What I would like to do is to make the text background higher but
without making the font higher. The result should be a white text in a
black background and with more "space" around the text.

I don't want to make a textbox because it's my plan to set the font as
a style.

Hope this make reason. It's quite hard to explain.

Increase the Line Spacing for the style. Assuming that you are using a
recent version of Word, you can right-click the style name in the Styles
(and Formatting) pane and choose Modify from the context menu. In the Modify
Style dialog box, click Format, and then click Paragraph. At "Line Spacing,"
choose the desired setting. Click OK to confirm the settings.

Unfortunately, Space Before and After is applied outside the shading in a
paragraph (just as it is applied outside a border). In order to increase the
shaded area, you must use the "Distance from text" setting in the Border and
Shading Options. What is less obvious is that this doesn't "take" unless you
also have a border. So apply a box border in the same color as the
background (black, in this case), and then click Options... on the Borders
tab and set the Top and Bottom (and Left and Right, if desired) "From text"
settings to, say, 12 points.

Good point. My suggestion would simply make use of the increased spacing
between lines within a paragraph; it wouldn't create more shading between
paragraphs.
