Stuttering system

I am having a similar problem to one that was posted earlier in this
newsgroup. When playing music with any app. with Media Player 9, and I
switch to the next song either on a playlist or CD, the system will freeze
on and off for about 5 seconds causing a stuttering sound. All apps play as
advertised with Media Player 7. I have the latest sound card driver
installed. I also removed my modem and didn't get any difference in
performance. Any ideas? Thanks, Jimt

Media Player 9 sucks. Try Winamp.
