strange warning when i open internet explorer

every once in the while when i open internet explorer itll open a second window that goes to some weird website and a messagebox appears that says "virus warning!!! sasser_d worm detected! click ok to scan and disinfect" i never click ok but i cant figure out how to get rid of it. its not that the homepage is set to a weird page, its something else. the website it opens is
http://ads.softwareoutfit.com/doom_alert.php?aid=vtdl&lid=RED&src=vtdl&tz=24
anything I can do to get rid of it?

Intenet options Security select Restriced sites icon.

Select sites.
type in this minus quotes "ads.softwareoutfit.com"

Click add.

Also, you might want to delete your cookies. in the cookie folder.
