Strange Message when opening workbook

J

Jim

When I try and open an excel workbook file this message pops up...

The information you opened contains automatic links to information in
another workbook. Do you want to update this workbook with changes made to
the other workbook?

-To update all linked information, click Yes.
-To keep the existing information, click No.

If anyone knows anything about what this message means please let me know.
The workbook I am working in is a copy of another workbook. I did make
changes to the copy, it is not the same as the original.

It simply means you have a formula within the book that is set up to pull
data from another book. You can see/audit these links via the EDIT menu and
LINKS.

If you go under Edit->Links you will see a link to another excel file
and decide whether you want to keep them.

This is perfect! How do I remove if I decide I don't want to reference the
linked document?
My options are Update Now, Open Source, or Change. I just want to remove.
Suggestions on how to remove?

Thanks!
