Strange login script behavior

Jeff Stokes

I run a 80 user mixed environment and my XP professional
machines seem to run into a lot of problems correctly
running the login script. It's served from a 2000 server,
through group policies.

The problem is this, sometimes the H (home) drive is
mapped to the root home share (\\server1\home) and
sometimes it is mapped correctly (\\server1
\home\department\user). Further, sometimes one of the
other drives won't get mapped (sometimes it skips the P
drive, sometimes the G drive).

Errors are sometimes found in the event log when this
occurs, but I can't seem to find any real helpful info in
the KB as of yet. (Mainly userenv error 1054).

It is important to note that our 98 and 2000 professional
machines all work without a problem, only Xp seems to have
any problems here.
