Strange Keyboard Problem:

N

Navyguy

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with XP SP2
The problem I have is this: sometimes like on Yahoo or MSN when I
click on something and then click backspace it doesn't do it. I see it
cycling but then it just sits. I've noticed it does this on other
sites as well but not all. In most cases when I click the backspace
button or key it does so but in these other instances I have to click
it twice and sometime 3 times. I shouldn't have to do this. When I
click on the backspace key or button it should immediately backspace
without me having to repeat it. Does anyone know why its doing this or
can offer any suggestions?

Thanks,

Robert

You're sure its not just a key problem? Pull up word or such and
type a bunch of junk and then try backspacing though it. Also
I've seen other keys stick, and of course a sticky key prevents the
others from triggering in some keyboards. A letter "A" would show as
aaaaaaaaaaaaaa's but like control or alt etc might not.
Just a thought.

Yes, I'm sure it isn't a stuck key. I have also gone into Safe Mode
with Networking and it still does it. I've also tried using osk.exe
and it does it there also. One site:http://www.imdb.com/ constantly
does this. Say I type in Star Wars for the the movie. then without
even selecting which Star Wars Episode when I try and back space by
either using the backspace key or backspace button or by clicking the
backspace arrow nothing happens. I have to do it 3 times before it
backspaces. Yet on most other programs if functions normally. The
thing is that I didn't have this problem until recently and the only
new program I've added was System Mechanics which shouldn't interfere
with this. If so, I would think it would do it everywhere and not just
a few selected sites.
