Strange Internet connection sharing problems

Hi all,

I have a strange problem. I have to computers at home a desktop and a
laptop. I set them up so they can share my dsl modem. That is my
desktop is set up as the host and the laptop as the client. Everything
seemed to work fine except yesterday while browsing on the laptop I
noticed that I can't reach certain webpages such as microsoft and
google blogger etc. At the moment I thought that those webpages were
down but when I tried them on my desktop I could see them just fine. My
desktop runs win 2000 and my laptop win xp home edition.
Is there some setting I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

If it's only certain pages take a look at your hosts file. Some malware may
have altered it.

Thanks for your help. I just found out what it was. A too high MTU
setting. I set it at 1200 and now works just fine.
