Strange IE 7 behaviour.

I've recently rebuilt Windows XP home.

When I click on the IE7 icon in the task bar IE opens but displays an error
saying it can't open the default page (Google). Clicking refresh opens the
google home page. Why doesn't it do this when IE opens? It worked
correctly on the previous build.

IE7 questions are best asked in the Internet Explorer newsgroup. There are
quite a few posts there so peruse them for something on topic before posting
a new message.

Because it is IE7. Maybe you need the NEW version of
Google...check for update.

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

3. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) and don't
reinstall it, does this behavior persist?
