Strange DVD Problem...

I have a DVD writer. I made a boneheaded mistake: after downloading an ISO image I event did a right-click on the icon is selected Send-To and then selected the DVD writer. Normally when a copy an ISO image I use Deep Burner. Now I can't get rid of the aforementioned send-to stuff. I tried reformatting, I tried using Deep Burner's erase command and none of it is working I can't seem to get rid of the stuff on the DVD. I turned off auto play in the control panel, but still when I put one of the "used" DVDs in the drive it seems to attempt to read the DVD and is not successful, locking up the system until I actually open the drive.

Any idea of what's happening and how to "erase" the contents of that rewritable DVD?

Thanks.

Did it actually write the file or is it pending? It usually seems to be a
two step process. How does explorer show the contents?

Unfortunately, once I insert the DVD in the drive the drive starts reading, never recovers, and the system is locked up tight until I open the drive. If I work real fast and get Computer up and operational I cannot access the drive/the DVD in the drive!

You might try uninstalling the drive in Device Manager, rebooting and
letting it find the drive again. Maybe that will clear it out. Long shot
though.

Rather Dracoian approach?! Tried it it didn't work. The problem seems to be that when ever I access the disk in the DVD player the system seems to lock up, and the only way they'll unlocking it is to open the drive.

I know the drive is good for I have no problem writing to the DVD at other times. Only when I did a right-click send to on an ISO image to I run into this problem...

Not draconian at all. Same procedure as when you install the product or
install the os and it initially finds the device. If you have installed any
programs that control the DVD, especially for writing, you may have a
conflict causing your problem
