Strange auto-archive behaviour

Hi,

I have a strange problem with Outlook 2007 client - hope someone can help.

I have a user who has auto-archiving set-up. The archive file is stored on a
mapped network drive (eg z:\username\archive) - I've confirmed this by
checking the location of the data file and also in Outlook Archive
configuration page.

Strange thing is, about once a week Outlook appears to be re-creating the
archive on the local disk. If I check archive options it shows 1 archive on
the network drive and also another on the local C:\

Can anyone explain why this might be happening?

thanks!

This could be caused by individual archive settings on a per-folder basis.
Check the AutoArchive settings in the main mailbox for the folder that is
being archived to the C:\-drive.

Note that connecting to a pst-file stored on a network drive is not
recommended nor supported by Microsoft and could lead to data corruption or
even data loss.
