Stopping Desktop Alert form showing? Move, Delete?

I know I can't access the desktop alert object but on certain emails
that a vba will process I do not want the desktop alert to show up.
I've tried immediately moving the item to the Deleted Items folder as
soon as the Item is added to the Inbox but it still shows up. For
testing I've tried immediatly deleting it using CDO but again it still
shows up. It seems if a message enters the inbox no matter if it is
immediately deleted or moved the Desktop Alert will show. If a rule
moves it or deletes it the Desktop Alert does not show but I cannot
make this a rule. Is there any way around this? Or Is there a way to
process the message before it hits the Inbox? Thanks in advance

I figured it out. If use the Redemption's NewMail event you can move
it to the deleted folder before the Desktop Alert fires. If theres a
better way though I would be glad to here it.
