Stop Word defining extra styles

P

Peter Connolly

In my normal template I have defined a small number of styles that I use in
my documents.

If I create a document and start editing it, Word starts creating styles
based on any changes I make to my text (e.g, Heading1+bold,
Heading1+italic).

How can I stop this? I want to keep my small, nice, easy to use list of
styles, and change them on a one-off basis if I need to.

TIA,

Pete.

What version of Word? In Word 2002/3, choose Tools - Options - Edit tab,
remove the check next to Keep track of formatting.

Many thanks Herb.

It is 2003, and that tip has sorted it for me.

Regards,

Pete.
