Stop web toolbar from showing in Word when I follow hyperlink

In microsoft word, whenever I follow a link within the current document, the
Web toolbar appears. I close (click the [X]) the toolbar because it is
annoying and always pops up in the wrong place anyhow, but then I follow
another link and boom there it is again.
Surely there must be some way to STOP this toolbar from appearing everytime
I follow a link in WORD?
Thanks.
