stop update references on print

On print, word 2007 updates references and changes fonts, and it it wrong,
and the software isn't that smart. How can I stop Update before print?
...just do what I tell you to do...

In Word 2007, go to Office button > Word Options > Display > Printing
options, and uncheck the last two options.

If that doesn't help, there are no other options to change. Maybe it
would help to put \*Mergeformat switches in your links -- see
http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm.
