Stop the border edges grabbing objects in powerpoint.

I'm a corporate user of PowerPoint ever since I can remember. Over the many
years I've used this product there's ALWAYS been one particularly irritating
aspect that's impossible to get rid of (via the menues), namely:

If one is trying to populate a picture, it's nigh impossible to place
objects close to edge of a picture without the object being sucked
(automatically) into the border. This is especially prevalent when trying to
re-size and object that goes right across the screen.

Can we have an option to make this useless feature user selectable?

Have you tried turning off the snap to grid option?
