stop errors NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I am frequently getting 0x000000D1 stop errors (with different numbers in the
parenthesis). The latest was 0x000000D1 (0x02E667B1, 0x0000000L, 0x00000000,
0xFF6E3019). I installed the KB916595-x86-ENU fix but that hasn't stopped my
getting stop errors. They occur when the computer is running, not when I boot
up or down.
I was unable to do a system restore, as none of my restore points would
work. I hadn't added any hard- or soft-ware just before this began happening.
I'm using Windows XP with all current updates on a Dell Dimension 9150.
Please help!

Hi

Whenever I have seen that stop error it has always been related to the
graphics driver - that may not apply to everyones PCof course - but FWIW
you might like to check if there have been any updates applied to your
graphics drivers and or utilities. If there have been see if you can remove
these.

Which graphics card is in your Dell?

One thing you could try is to turn off any special features associated with
the graphics. eg Nvidias card has a utility called "nView" which Ive found
sometimes crashed IE.

You could try uninstallings the graphics drivers and going back to plain VGA
just to see how it behaves.

Then install the drivers for your graphics card - I'd suggest you try the
version one prior to the most recent and see how it goes.

Does the complete Stop Error Report refer specifically to HTTP.SYS?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties.
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Please provide copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for when the error
occurs. No Information Reports please.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posing copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this is what you want. Thank you so much for the clear instructions.

Does the complete Stop Error Report refer specifically to HTTP.SYS?
I don’t know. I don’t remember any Http.sys on the blue screen.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? No, no yellow
question marks. I ran Dell driver reset tool and it said “no errors detected.â€

What drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

There were three:
The following files have not been digitally signed:
acfpdf.txt
acpdf250.dll

You seem to have rather a lot of Error Reports, which may take some
time to study. It's late now. I will try to look at them some time
tomorrow.

You have a Dell Dimension 9150. There seem to be a number of variants
when I looked at the Dell site earlier. Can you provide more details.

Hope this helps.
