Stop Error Messages

I am trying to install WinXP Pro and I have recieved
several stop messages. The most recurring is 0x50,
PAGE_FAULT_etc... In order for the install to work, I
have to disable both the L1 and L2 cache on my AMD 2600+
or just the L1 cache (which is what I did). Once Windows
starting running I enabled the cache and it ran fine until
I tried to install my video card or other program. It
then proceeds to restart without warning. I have looked
at the other error messages (7F, 24, D1, 0A) and I am at
my wit's end trying to troubleshoot. If you have any
suggestions, they are most welcome.

My config:
ASUS A7V8X-X
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 333MHz FSB
PC3200 DDR 512MB

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Thanks Carey, it turns out my motherboard was the issue.
I replaced it with a different model (incompatibility
with the CPU).
