Stop Error 0x00000008E

After recently installing a video game (WoW), Ive been getting a blue screen
and the following error message about 5 minutes into running the game (has
happened about 5 times now)

Stop: 0x00000008E (0xc0000005, 0xBF104E63, 0xA8EE299C, 0x00000000)
ial.mdd5.DLL-Address BF104E63 base at BF06B000, datestamp 000000000

It adds that there is inadequate disk space, and to check for driver
updates. I have added the latest driver updates from microsoft, and have
made significant efforts to clear up disk space on my C drive (21 GB out of
70 free now).

The other recommendations are to check for BIOS updates (I am currently
working on this) and to disable memory options such as caching or shadowing
(I don't know how to do this).

While checking these forums for possible solutions I found none that
directly applied to my situation. Also, I had this game installed on my
computer a year ago and ran it flawlessly.

Any suggestions or advice on how to resolve this situation will be greatly
appreciated. I'm currently using Windows XP.

What version of this Intel driver is installed -ialmdd5.dll?

Note your post naming this driver contains a typo!

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and
verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked
and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need
to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that
the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked.
Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is selected and then
select View, Choose Details and check before Name, Type, Total Size, and
Free Space.

Locate driver in Windows Explorer and right click on file to get file
version details.

Hope this helps.
