Sometimes my computer can't find files during the initial
file copy to install XP home. I can usually change CD
drives and get to copy going again. When it get done with
that, I get the message about rebooting and after my
computer does I get a blue screen error message.

stop: c000221 Unknown Hard Error
\system Root\system32\ntdll.dll

I'm trying to install XP home on a freshly formatted hard
drive. I've tried to install several times and each time
I get this error message. I know its not my copy of XP
because I went out an bought a new one (I though my CD was
messed up). Please help.

Look at the following link:

It looks to me that youve got a hardware problem, which is
hard to detect.

But you could first try to set the BIOS settings back to
the "default settings". Boot and go in to the BIOS setup
(most likely the "del" button should be pressed during
boot) and select the "set default BIOS settings" options.
On a view occassions I had also a problem setting up Xp
that could be solved by setting the BIOS to the default
setting. Even on new out of the box computers !! Hopes
this helps.
