STOP: c000021a

Shawn

Recently I installed the latest automatic update on my
Windows XP operating system. Now when I boot up, upon
getting to the "Welcome" Screen, a message appears saying
the computer was unable to log on to the selected user,
and that the client does not have a needed privelege.
After the message counts down to zero from thirty, the
system shuts down showing this message:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated
unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000
0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

Anyone know how to help?

Anyone know how to help?...
message abd a few more like it, it was because I was using a hard
drive that was formatted by another computer. My Dell would not run,
so I formatted a hard disk with the Dell CD, but on another cpmouter.
When I inserted that disk into the Dell...I got sveral of those same
messages. Is that what you did?

Hi Shawn,

Which update was it?

Thanks for the note, Mike....

I have seen that as well on many occasions. And the errors and recovery
console troubleshooting measures are endless. It seems with each step
taken, another error message is produced.

Even when running a low-format slaved on another systems for just about 20
hours didn't help. In two of the cases here, it was a faulty hard drive and
the other had to do with the particular graphics card w/tv that was added.
Note: Neither were Dell's.
