Stop before folder download prompt ( ?!!)

Hi,

In these days It happens that IE 6 stops after I've selected a file to
download.
It prompts for "open" or save" and then, when I select save It don't prompt
for a specific download folder. It freeze the window of download and nothing
happen.
I've to close that window from Xp task manager :....

Any suggestion ?

Hi,

If it is only .exe files, then read on and see if this is relevant:

You may have an invalid plugin.
Netscape-Style Plug-ins Do Not Work After Upgrading Internet Explorer

Remove the plugin with Regedit.exe
1. Start -> Run
2. Type Regedit.exe
3. Navigate down to the key and export the key to a file and then remove it
(saftey precaution)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Plugins\Extension\
.exe

If that key exists, then you will see what plugin has been installed. The
key does not normally exist.
