This problem came up on my other computer this morning, it is really
bothering me.

I have research into it a little and it happens alot after you install
Windows Live Messenger (Which I installed two days ago)

All the "Safe Mode" options and and last good configuration option won't
work. It goes back to the problem screen.

I cannot get onto the computer as I cannot get past the error screen which
means that I cannot try and run anything.

I do not have an XP disk as it was allready installed on my computer when I
bought it. My computer is a Dell.

I do not have a floppy disk drive.

I have Norton software on my computer.

It tells me to uninstall software but how can I do that when the computer
will not load up!

Any ideas? :-/

Thank you,

A couple months ago I recieved an error on my Dell that had the sam
"If this is the first time... " info but I do not recal
the tech info. I tried and tried to get mine to boot before sendin
the tower to a technician. He found that the problem was most likel
that a system file had been moved during defragmentation to a
unsuitable part of the HD. The disk could not be read from with an
of his machines so we sent it to DriveSavers and the recovered al
the data that was lost. I reccomend calling a technician asap t
check yours out (that is, unless some one here says otherwise) Hop
I helped.

On your working computer download Bart's PE Builder from
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ and run it to create a bootable CD.

Boot your problem computer with this CD, open a Command Prompt window,
and enter the following command:

CHKDSK C: /R

and see if that fixes the problem.

For more information abot your error see

Good luck
