Still having trouble!

Desktop = xp pro
Laptop = xp home
Laptop can ping itself
Desktop can ping both.
Desktop can cruise and share all over the laptop.
Laptop can't share printers, files or anything else with xp pro
Tried changing settings, log-ons, sharing settings, firewalls, etc. I need
some
serious help!

Did you fix the previous problem with the cmd prompt on the desktop? You
can't diagnose TCP/IP problems without a working cmd prompt.

At a cmd prompt type ipconfig /all and post the results from both computers
back here. Can both computers ping each other by name and also by IP
address?

I had the same problem with my laptop and desktop at home. I even went so
far as to replace the network card in the desktop. The problem I narrowed
down to Virus Protection. On the desktop I was running Norton and the
laptop came with McAfee and they don't work real well with each other. I
turned them both off and was able to share the printers as well as the
folders. Try turning off the Virus Protection and see what happens.
