The first step here is to go to the Sony web site and see if there are
XP drivers for all components of that laptop. If there are, download
them (all ... could be a dozen or more). If not, then this becomes a
real can of worms, not necessarily impossible but sufficiently difficult
to require an "expert" level of knowledge. Installing an OS on a laptop
whose manufacturer did not support that OS is time consuming at best,
and sometimes impossible. A few years ago I wanted Windows 98 on a
Toshiba 1415, and I finally got there (with EVERYTHING working), but it
took about 60 hours of research, downloading and testing to find all of
the right drivers. And in some cases, the drivers don't exist at all
(or can't be found).
