status flag column in Outlook XP?

Why can't I move the status flag column in Outlook XP to the left side of the
display? In previous versions of Outlook it was always possible to order the
columns as I wanted them.

This happens even when you have customized your view? What steps have you
taken to order the columns how you want to see them?
(just trying to clarify the steps you have taken so no one offers steps
you've already taken)

I've tried dragging and droppping. I've also gone to View\Arrange by\Current
view\Customize Current View\Fields, and then used the applet to arranged the
fields in the order I want. This worked in the previous version of Outlook.
It doesn't work in the version I now have. I'm tearing my hair out.

That particular column cannot be moved.

Wow! They moved the column away from it's former location, and then locke it
there? That's just stupid. Is there a reason for that? Did Microsoft merely
want to make it more difficult for users to adjust to the new version?

There are two flag columns. One can be moved, one can't. I believe
"Follow-up Flag" can be, "Flag Status" can't.
