startup problems

I have an HP Compaq nx-9010. It runs Windows XP-Pro. When I turn the
computer on it asks if i want to start in safe mode or safe mode with
network or safe mode with connections or normal startup or last known
configuration. No matter what I click on it does the same thing. You
see the word "Windows" pop up as it would normally do when booting up,
but then the machine just restarts and does the same thing over again,
putting back to the screen that asks how I want to start the
computer. There are no error messages or anything else, just the
startup screen with all the options and then it restarts. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi

If you are that screen and none of those options give you access to Windows,
you will need tp perform a 'Repair' instal of XP. Please see the following
article by Michael Stevens:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"

Aside from what Will Denny posted did you or anybody select this Start Up option in MSConfig. Normal Boot should be selected. If it is then follow the advice Will Denny gave you on this issue
