startup problems w2k pro

I have a w2k pc that is set to automatically reboot in the
start up and recovery options. After applying sp4 it fails
to restart, since loading windows normally or in safe mode
results in a blue screen that flashes on the screen before
rebooting. Is there a way to override the reboot option to
read the blue screen error, or at least freeze it long
enough to see the message. I can get into the recovery
console and disable my antivirus from starting but would
like to know the specifics of the error message.

TIA

I would uninstall SP4 from recovery console.

Then you can boot up and do normal uninstall. After that check the system
event log to see what stop error you were getting.
