It is most likely due to a setting in your Internet Explorer browser.
Bring up I.E.
Select Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab
Look at "Browsing" category

Uncheck the line "Automatically check for Internet Explorer updates"

Apply change. Press OK.

Maurice, that was selected, which I removed the 'check'. However, I still
have the issue of going to the Microsoft Update site regardless of home page
set. Now once I get to the site "microsoft update" and click on home it will
go to the yahoo site. Any other ideas?

thx for your help Maurice...

Only if you know how to use Regedit:

Take a look at this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

What is the value for Start Page
What is the value for NoUpdatecheck

IE Tools > Internet Options > General > Home page: What is selected here
now?

If you change it, close the IE window and then reopen it, does the change
"stick"?

Which, if any, of the following are you using: Spybot, Ad-aware Ad-Watch,
SpySweeper, ZA Pro?
