Starting a new word document

When opening word and starting a new document the "new" document is always
populated with the text of a document my daughter created in word as opposed
to a blank document. Daughter insists she did nothing to cause this but I'm
certain she did and want to know how to reset the application so that it
doesn't always insert this text.

I'm sure it is an easy fix but I've not found the solution.

Any help is appreciated.

You have saved Normal.dot (97-2003) or in Word 2007 Normal.dotm on exit from
word.

You need to open Normal.dot or Normal.dotm located in user templates and
delete the text and resave. Or you can rename Normal.dot or Normal.dotm
(depending on Word version) oldNormal.dot or oldNormal.dotm. You need to
close Word Application to do this and Word will build a new Normal.dot or
Normal.dotm when it reopens.

If you use Find in this user group search in Message for ¨Normal.¨ and you
will find lots of info on the solution for this problem and locating
Normal.dot.

Hope this helps.
