start WinExplorer with Folders pane open?

I have several shortcuts to different folders in my file system, some of
which I have given a function key shortcut. They always open Window
Explorer without the Folders pane down the left side. I almost always want
that pane, and I have to click to do it. That's worse than annoying: I
have developed tendinitis, so I need to eliminate as many clicks and
keystrokes as I can.

Is there any way to make it open *with* the Folders pane open?

Oddly enough, I have a keyboard shortcut that opens My Documents with the
Folders pane open. But I don't remember how I set that up. The My
Documents icons on the Desktop and in the Start|Documents menus open
without the Folders pane, and neither of them has a Shortcut tab (under
Properties) with a Shortcut Key field.

Right-click on the shortcut, click Properties, Shortcut tab, and change
the content of the Target box so that it resembles this:

%SystemRoot%\EXPLORER.EXE /e, D:\Folder to be Opened

I set File Folder to default to Explore in Folder Options
so all open the old File Manager style...

Thank you, that works, with the exception of changing "D:" to the
appropriate volume for the folder.

Well, it works on my laptop in XP. At work tomorrow I'll try it in Win2000.

Works on 2000, too. Thanks again.
