start up in safe mode with SP2 install

After I install SP2 the computer starts up in safe mode. MB is ECS rs482-M
with onboard ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 video and Athalon 64 processor 1G memory,
new HD (120G).

We tried reinstalling from the beginning (reformat HD/XP Pro and then the
SP2 - was fine until we installed motherboard software/drivers... after we
got THAT working we had problems with each install including DSL, PAnda AV
and otehr.
There doesn't seem to be a workaround except to uninstall SP2. Right now we
have just about everything running except SP2 not installed.

a response from ECS claims they don't have any problems with XPpro/SP2 on
their test boards - any thoughts or ideas???
This has turned into a nearly 3 weekproject...

thanks!

What happens if you hit F as pc boots, get into xp boot menu and choose
startup normally and see if that works then reboot and see if it goes
into normal itself, if not try and do the same thing but choose last
known good configuatuon.

Flamer.
