Start time of music in powerpoint

I am trying to start from the middle of the song. I have entered in 0:10 in
the Custom Animation "Start From" box, and the song does start from that
place. However, now the slide will not transition to the next slide. When I
have the song start from the beginning there is no issue with the transition.
Any ideas?

Go to custom animation, then double click on the play effect.
On the Effects tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing after XXX
slides. Put 999 in the field. Has this been done?

Can we just check your settings ----

Start "after previous"
"Start playing From time 10 seconds"
"Stop Playing after 999 slides"
(or a number equal or greater than the number of slides)
Slide transition "automatically after x seconds" ----

I tried with all of those settings, and it still does not transition. Also,
I don't want this song to play for the entire presentation -- I have several
songs that I want to play at different points.

Theres no problem saying "after 5 slides or whatever"

Those settings work perfectly for me, and Ive tried wav and mp3 files. If
the files not too big I'll have a look if you email it. (see profile for
address)

Probably because you have set custom animation on other objects with the
start as After previous as well.

If you use With Previous instead of After Previous, it will work.

Or a quicker way is to double click on the play effect.
Then, set it to start playing "From last position".
Now, run the slide show.
If it works, double click on the play effect again and set back to start
playing after X seconds.
