How to edit the registry? Or a registry editor download??

Now I am trying to search google for; start processes automatic

If I can get TaskMgr to start auto as a service I can take it out of the
StartUP folder.

Thanks for all the links and help.

I'm sorry, but your post is not clear. If you don't know how to edit the
registry with the built-in registry editor, regedit, I don't know what good
a third-party registry editor is going to do you. I can guess what bad it
will do you, though.

Why do you have TaskMgr in your Startup folder anyway? If you didn't put it
there, your computer is probably infected. If you're trying to monitor your
computer, look for third-party monitoring programs.

Otherwise post back with a better explanation of what you are trying to do
so people can give you focused help.

You dont need the registry or 3rd party software to do that.Simply go to
run,type:services.msc In msc,scroll to the service,double click,set to
"manual"
"auto" or "disable" the service, exit when thru..You might look at dependency
tab for the service youre editing.

Hi Malke, I believe "New Orleans Novice" put the task manager
shortcut/file in the start up folder. See previous thread. Perhaps he/she
now wishes to remove the same from the startup folder.

Thanks. My mind-reading skills are a bit rusty this morning. Goodness knows
what he's really trying to do and why, but I'm not guessing.

Cheers,

I was wanting to move TaskMgr from the Startup folder where I put it to
trouble shoot my Video / RAM / memory problems into Administrative Tools |
Services | to make it start AUTO.

I thought I may have to edit the registry to complete this task. But I
removed it and set up a scheduled task to start it at LOGON.

Thanks for all the links and help.
