start menu redirection

I have removed Run, Help,Search,Settings and Documents
from the start menu. I have also removed every other
shortcut from the start menu. I have redirected my start
menu to point to a customised shared start menu. All works
well.

I want to remove the Programs folder (which is situated
between the Documents and Show Desktop shortcuts on a
default start menu). I have scripted the removal of all
folders from within the Programs folder e.g. Accessories
but can't remove the Programs folder itself from the start
menu. I don't know if this is possible or not but would
like to do it.

So far as I know you cannot remove the Programs menu on the Start Menu.

Why not edit the Program folders menu rather than deleting it?
