start access from task scheduler?

Fred

hi,

i want to have an MDB automatically run every night. i have tried using the
Task Scheduler to trigger execution, (i've supplied a macro name in the
start up command line). but although this works fine when i start up the
MDB manaully, it just sits there when the Task Scheduler starts it up, and
shows no sign of executing.

is there some problem with Access being started up via task scheduler (i.e.
running in the background)?

any clues would be appreciated!

thanks,

fred

give us the exact name of the command that you're using

effectively

"c:\program files\office\1033\msaccess.exe" "c:\mydatabasename.mdb" /X
Macroname

right?

yes, this is right. when i put this in a .bat file, and double clikc on the
..bat file, it works great. but if i put this exact command (or a call to the
..bat file) in the task scheduler, it doesn't. i've tried both xp task
scheduler, and sql server agent. same results.

any ideas?

thanks so much,

fred
