Standby Button at WINXP

Last days I found standby button was disabled , I have restore Mother Board
Bios (MSI 865 PE Seniors) to Default sittings as informed by
Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP

But the problem still there and standby button still disabled.

Hi,

The loss of standby is usually a driver issue, as something you installed on
the system does not support it. In my article, I state that motherboard
power management should be disabled before tyring to set up Windows power
management, not reset to defaults.

You need to look at devices and software installed on the system since it
last functioned correctly.

Hi, I have lost the STANDBY function also. I get the message "Communications
Port (COM2)" device is preventing the machine from entering standby and that
I need to update the driver. I have no idea how to do that. Would like to get
some help. Thanks
