Stand by

When i put my computer in stand by sometimes it resumes operation by itself
without hittintg a key or touching the mouse. It's really frustrating because
the fans are a little on the loud side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently running XP pro.

You will need to determine WHEN it happens, and what circumstances cause
it. You will need to be very observant, since it only happens "sometimes".

If the PC is set to resume on mouse movement or network activity, for
example, it may randomly resume. Vibration may cause the mouse to sense
movement, and network activity can occur for a multitude of reasons.
