Stalled Setup

I am trying to do a clean install on XP PRO SP2. I left setup running when I
went to work today. Nine hours later, setup is stuck on installing devices. I
have never had this problem before. Any ideas? I tried to do a repair install
first. I guess XP doesn't like Acronis True Image 10 because I get, (There is
a third party kernel present setup will now close).

You'll never get a "repair installation" to work if xp has'nt even been
installed...
Left xp to install itself ?Xp doesnt,it it probably would get stuck on
asking for
simple settings that pop-up.If xp is on a retail cd,simply boot to
cd,install xp.
