MSI K8T Neo FIS2R mobo w W2K sp4. HD jumped for CableSelect. HD identified
correctly in BIOS & in DeviceManager. Under [Disk Management], drive
capacity listed as 128.00 GB. Checked Registry settings as recommended in
305098 and they appeared OK (Seagate's 'Reg48bitLBA' utility confirms
registry settings OK). Thanks for any suggestions that might reveal the
problem & offer a solution!

In order to use a hard drives of capacity >137GB, 'EnableBigLBA' must be set
(in the Registry) *before* you format the drive. Also, be certain that your
disk controller supports 48-bit Logical Block Addressing. If you discover
that and old motherboard has an inadequate controller, you must switch
motherboards, or install a newer third-party controller.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One word of caution: Do not place a working drive (of capacity >137GB) into
a different computer without making sure that the new computer also has
'EnableBigLBA' set! If you should inadvertently do so, Windows 2000 on the
new machine will, upon discovering the new drive, attempt to run CHECKDISK
and many of your files will become unreadable! The tears you shed will not
be tears of joy.

Hope this helps,
