square cells

I want to change the grid into a pattern of square cells. I want the hight
and width to be equal. Can this be done?

The reason is that I want to use the grid as a background for simple
drawings of products. Is there perhaps a better way to do this in an
office-program?

Row heights are measured in points or pixels. There are 72 points to an inch
and "maybe" 96 pixels to the inch.

The number that appears in the Standard column width box is the average number
of digits 0-9 of the standard font that fit in a cell.

For an interesting and enlightening discussion on this subject see

If you want to use VBA to set height and width in mm.

Ole Erlandson has code for setting row and column dimensions.

Elika,

You will be better served to use a different application for your purpose.
You might even find it easier to simply use some 1/4" square lined paper, but
if you need to have your drawings in electronic format, then MS Visio might
be able to accommodate what you need; otherwise you could find a simple (but
less functional) design or floorplan software.
